Hi! My name is Erlinda Kessler and I live in beautiful Idaho. I have been married to my prince charming for eleven wonderful years. We have a 7 year old daughter (our little Sweet Pea), a 3 year old daughter and guardianship of a nephew, age 7. Family is very important to us, so we spend most of our free time with our family. We like to go camping, rent movies, have BBQ's, and go to car shows in our '66 Mustang. My favorite hobbies are collecting Barbies and porcelin dolls, reading (when I have the time), web page design (which I am still learnng), and scrapbooking.
I have been babysitting since I was about 13 years old. I have worked mostly in the food industry (fast food management, waitress, grocery, etc.) . I have also done woodworking and computer manufacturing for a living. But it wasn't until I had a baby that I decided to do childcare. I had a great desire to stay home with my daughter, but still needed to help provide for my family.
Now I have the best job in the world. I don't know why I didn't do this sooner. I have been doing childcare in my home now for almost seven years. I love teaching young children. I am state licensed. I have had fingerprinting and background checks. I am CPR and first aid certified. I have had home-health and fire/safety inspections. I attend many trainings on childcare throughout the year. I am a member of NAFCC, NAEYC, and Stand For Children.
I have a Child Development Associate and a Technical Certificate in Child Care and Development from Boise State University. In Fall of 2001, I started attending college for an AA degree in Child Care and Development. All of this has been made possible through a grant from TEACH and IAEYC. |
